Are you debating between buying a used or new home? Maybe you already looked at a few homes, but nothing is just right. Or maybe you’re not sure you can afford a new construction home.
New construction homes costing more is a myth. The cost of the home depends on many factors such as location, school district, and value.  Learn more about the benefits of buying a new construction home!
Energy Savings

New homes are constructed with energy efficiency in mind. Most new construction homes come with double or even triple pane windows which are far more efficient than single pane windows used in old homes. Better efficiency is better for the environment and your wallet.
New construction homes have all new state-of-the-art better performing appliances. If you move into an older home, there’s a good chance you’ll have to replace the appliances in the house, but a new home will already come with that.
Many older homes have drafts and poor air quality. New homes have higher quality ventilation and air quality system keeping you healthy. Poor ventilation can cause issues such as mold which can make people sick.  Those drafts that come with charming older homes, don’t come with new construction homes!
Less Maintenance

When buying a used home, you never really know what you’re going to get. Typically, you tour the home and once you put in your offer have a home inspection to find any issues or things you want to change. But it’s not until after you move in when you truly realize all the things you need to update.
Even if you don’t think you’ll need to make any updates, it may only be a year or two until you realize you need a new roof or new appliances. When you buy a new home, you know exactly what you’re getting. You won’t need to do much, if any, major maintenance for years.
Better Security and Safety

A newer home is designed with better technologies for security and safety. New homes have better use of fire retardant materials and alarm systems. Many new garage doors have better technology that knows when a person is too near the door to close. Just to name a few!
According to the Center for Disease Control, there are at least 4 million households with lead paint. Homebuyers are suppose to be notified if there’s a chance there is lead paint. WIth a new home, you can completely trust that the paint doesn’t have lead in it.
